Kenneth F. Binmoeller, MD, is recognized nationally and internationally as an authority and leader in advanced endoscopic procedures and endosonography. He has been performing complex interventional endoscopic procedures since the late 1980s and has authored more than 200 publications and several books.
Dr. Binmoeller is the founder and Director of Interventional Endoscopy Services (IES) at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Founded in 2001, this was the first center of its kind dedicated to the practice and advancement of therapeutic endoscopy. IES has become the premier referral center in Northern California and the greater region for endoscopic alternatives to surgery. Patients from across the U.S. and abroad seek endoscopic care at IES.
Dr. Binmoeller’s daily practice has inspired innovation to improve outcomes for his patients and enable new procedures. He holds over 50 patents for novel endoscopic technologies. Several of his inventions have developed into successful commercial products that benefit patients around the world.

Prof. Khashab graduated at the Faculty of Medicine, American University of Beirut in 2002. He spent his Internship in Internal Medicine and Residency in Internal Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine (Indianapolis), where he also started a Fellowship in Gastroenterology. In 2009, he moved to Baltimore, where he completed an Advanced Fellowship in Interventional Endoscopy at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Specializing in therapeutic endoscopy, Prof. Khashab is an internationally recognised expert in the field of advanced and innovative endoscopic techniques. He masters ERCP, interventional EUS procedures, balloon-assisted enteroscopy, endoscopic mucosal resections, third-space endoscopy procedures and many others. His research interests include (among others) endoscopic treatment of motility disorders, natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgery including its clinical applications and interventional endosonography. At present, Prof. Khashab is a Director of Interventional Endoscopy at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Professor Darina Kohoutova has been appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Royal Marsden Hospital in January 2018.
She graduated at Charles University (Czech Republic) in 2005. She gained further knowledge and skills during her fellowship at UCL & UCLH (oesophageal disorders) and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, London (pancreatobiliary disorders). She also received followships from European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and underwent training in Leeds, UK and Rome, Italy.
Professor Kohoutova´s research has been focused on pathogenesis of colorectal cancer (intestinal microbiota, apoptotic and mitotic activity). She received international awards and has given lectures at international conferences.
Her main current interests are gastrointestinal endoscopy (Barrett's oesophagus, pancreatobiliary disorders and endoscopy in high risk population), GI consequences of cancer treatment (including bile acid malabsorption and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth syndrome) and research on intestinal microbiota.
